2024 Dog Licenses will be available as of October 15th:
State law requires you to license your dog in the Municipal Clerk's Office by December 31st of each year.
TO OBTAIN A LICENSE FOR YOUR DOG:
- You may come into the Clerk’s office Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; or
- Mail a current rabies certificate and check for the appropriate fee to 11 Howard Street, Boothbay Harbor Maine 04538; or
- Register online at Online Dog License between October 15th and January 31st
When licensing your dog, you will need to provide a Maine Rabies Certificate from your veterinarian if not already on file in the Clerk’s Office. Please provide new rabies information if your dog has been immunized since the last time you registered him/her. If your dog has been spayed or neutered, please provide a certificate of proof from your veterinarian.
Fees:
Spayed/Neutered: $6 per year
Not Spayed/Neutered: $11 per year
Late Fees: $25 per dog (Dogs licensed after January 31st)
