License your dog before June 2, 2021, to avoid a $25 late fee.
The State of Maine requires that dogs be licensed in the town of residence of the owner. Each dog six months of age or older must be licensed.
Dog licenses expire on December 31st of each year. Additional late fees will be imposed beginning June 3, 2021, per Governor Mills executive Order No. 29 FY 20/21.
The fees to license your dog are $6.00 for an altered dog, $11.00 for an unaltered one. To receive a license, a dog owner must show a State of Maine rabies certificate and a spay or neuter certificate (if not already on file at the clerk’s office).
